DallasEM's own Dr. Gil Salazar, the team physician for the Dallas Stars is highlighted for his life saving efforts on the ice of the American Airlines Center in March 2014 after center Rich Peverley went into cardiac arrest on the bench during play. Dr. Salazar is a staff physician in the Parkland Memorial Hospital ED, and the director of EMS education for Dallas Fire Department.
