Residents from the Class of 2010
I really enjoyed being a resident at Parkland. I am currently working in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. If you have any questions about working after residency please feel free to contact me.
I am from a very small town in West Texas and worked for several years before medical school. I love to SCUBA dive and try to take at least one trip a year. I also enjoy snow skiing and backpacking usually with my Pops who introduced me to the wonders of the outdoors. I was blessed with a baby girl during my second year of residency and find every day an adventure in motherhood. I am very happy and feel extremely privileged to be where I am in life.
I am a born, raised and educated Californian attracted to Texas by the legendary Parkland Hospital and UTSW's amazing EM program!
In West Philadelphia, born and raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days. Chillin out maxin, relaxin all cool, playing some b ball outside of the school. When a couple of guys who were up to no good, started making trouble outside of the school. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, said "your movin with your auntie and uncle to Bell Air."I whistled for a cab and when it came near the lisence say 'FRESH' and a dice in the mirror.
I have lived in Dallas for 20 years. Parkland is a great place to be.
Parkland has been fun, but I can't wait to graduate!
I was born in in Toronto Canada, but I have lived in Texas for over half my life. I attended UTMB for medical school. I am married and have two little girls at home. I enjoy sports and playing golf at any opportunity I get.
Hi, I'm Bri. I enjoy wearing purple scrubs, beating Shane Taylor in arm wrestling, 'roiding' it up with Nikbahkt, hanging with my dog Griz, and long walks on the beautiful beaches of Dallas.
Texas native, Grapevine/Colleyville high school -> Texas A&M -> UT Southwestern... Very adventurous, I know! Proud to be a member of the finest class since the start of the UTSW Emergency Medicine Residency. Married since 2001, 3 kids (all boys) and 1 in utero. Currently employed by EmCare and working at Baylor All Saints in Fort Worth.
Good luck to all the new guys. I am outta here!!
I grew up in Fort Worth and began my pre-med route at TCU. During TCU, I worked as a scribe in the ER at Harris Methodist Hospital in Downtown Fort Worth, which led to my interest in ER. I did my medical school at UTMB and came back to the metroplex to start at UT Southwestern. I got married to my wife Concetta at the end of my intern year and currently live in Irving. My interests include ultimate Frisbee, mountain back bicycling, and camping.
I don't like sea food. Godiva choco is a must.
After a multi-year detour through NASA, and then the US Navy as a diving medical officer, I was honored to participate in the EM residency at Parkland as a 40-something-yo EM public servant (and father to two daughters and son.... all under age 5....proving anyone can survive residency). In fact, I was so struck by the importance of the Parkland mission... stuck around to do a Critical Care fellowship.
I was born and raised in East Texas- the '903' as we lovingly call it here. Got married to Barry at the end of med school and am now the proud mother of two schnauzers :) - Ollie and Lucy. You will probably find me at the hospital most of the time, but in my spare time I like to work in my garden, ride bikes around White Rock Lake and try out new restaurants.
"And now," cried Max "let the wild rumpus start!"
I spent most of my life in Birmingham, Alabama and found my way to Texas to train at Parkland. Once I interviewed here and learned about the program...I knew this was it. I do like to fish, play basketball, golf and travel BUT with a 2-year old and a newborn at home...well...you know. Residency has been great and Dallas has grown on me (although I am NOT a Cowboys fan!).
